Branch Classes - Winter/Spring 2008
Want to learn new skills, meet interesting people, exercise and have
fun? Come to our Fall Association Classes.
Branch Classes are not the only way to learn Scottish Country Dancing,
but they are the best way. The teachers
are all fully accredited by the RSCDS and class venues
are in different areas of the city, and on different
days to maximize convenience.

1 (Beginner) Classes at St. Leonard's -- JAN
7 - MAR 10
Mondays for 10 weeks -
Carole Skinner teaches beginners Scottish Country
Dance in the St. Leonard's
Church Hall. It's a big room with a good sprung wooden
floor. St. Leonard's Anglican is at 25 Wanless Avenue,
just off Yonge Street, a 2-minute walk N of the Lawrence
station. Time: 7:30 - 9:30pm. Cost is $80 for 10 wks
(GST included), cheques preferred, payable to RSCDS Toronto.

Level 1 (Beginner)
Classes at Swansea -- JAN 9

Wednesdays for 10 weeks - Sandra Scott
teaches beginners Scottish Country Dance in the Foundation
Room of the Swansea Town
Hall. It's a room with a good sprung wooden floor. The
Town Hall is at 95 Lavinia, a 7-minute
walk SW of the Runnymede station on the Bloor line (follow
the green signs). Accomplished musician, Laird Brown,
contributes his talents to the classes. Time: 7:30 -
9:30pm. Cost is $80 for 10 wks (GST included), cheques
preferred, payable to RSCDS Toronto. Late registrations

Level 1
(Beginner) and Level 2 (Intermediate) Classes at Eastminster

10 - MAR 20
Thursdays for 10 weeks - Linda Ashe Argent
teaches beginners Scottish Country Dance in the lower
level of Eastminster United Church. The room has a springy
wood floor and many dancers began their career here;
many friendships have been formed. The legendary Bobby
Brown plays accordion as only he can for the Beginner

Upstairs, in the Eastminster theatre, Steve Coombs
teaches Intermediate dancers finesse with their steps
and more advanced formations.
After these classes,
the Monthly Dance will hold no fears -- you'll be equipped

Level 3
Classes at Swansea -- JAN
10 - MAR 20
Thursdays for 10 weeks - Barbara Taylor
shares dancing and teaching experience with Intermediate
/ Advanced dancers. This is a relatively small group,
making it possible for
the teacher
to give personal attention to your 2-beat Pas de Bas, your
missing 3rd position, your hop-travelling in skip change,
your scuffling Strathspey.
The dances are usually not usual. They have in the recent
past included 3-couple Poussettes, Weasel Reels, and turns
without hands. Good humour

Classes are in the cosy former Council Chamber
of Swansea Town Hall, 5 Lavinia, a 7-minute walk SW of
the Runnymede station

Level 4 Classes for Intermediate/Advanced
Dancers at Broadlands

Sundays from 2-4:00pm - Jean Noble will
teach advanced dances at these Sunday afternoon events.
