[Info updated 29 Jan 2012] [Click HERE for a tabular view of classes info]

Learn new skills, meet interesting people, exercise, and have a lot of fun as you learn to dance Scottish-style.

Branch Classes are not the only way to learn Scottish Country Dancing, but they are the best way. Your teachers are fully accredited by the Royal Scottish Dance Society and class venues are in different areas of the city, and on different days, to maximize convenience.

Won't you join the dance? You'll have more fun than you thought possible!
If you are not convinced by your first class -- don't pay.

All classes run for 10 Weeks, 7:30pm - 9:30; and all classes cost $85 (HST incl.)
For further information, contact Sue Ann Bryce 416-266-5423.

Children's classes -- Children and teens are trained less formally at several locations. Details here.

As you begin second term. . .

After your first term of classes, to qualify for the second term, you are expected to become a member of RSCDS Toronto (info here). There are multiple reasons for this.

Basically, classes are subsidized by membership fees. Expenses include:

  • rental of facilities
  • token compensation to teachers
  • insurance costs

From a 'big picture' point of view, classes would not exist without membership fees to support the training of teachers (equivalent to a university course, in both difficulty and expense), the testing and publication of dances, and the production of CDs for the music we dance to. Plus, we are part of a world-wide international organization that maintains standards and safe-guards the heritage and history of Scottish Country Dancing so it can continue to thrive.
